About
A program of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Regional Food Bank FRC was established in 2013 and is a client-choice pantry that allows clients to select their own food, rather than receiving a pre-packed or standard bag of groceries. The Regional Food Bank FRC is one of 15 Food & Resource Centers in central and western Oklahoma. These sites provide greater access to fresh fruits and vegetables, are open longer hours and provide access to additional resources that help households become more self-sufficient.
In 2020, the Regional Food Bank FRC distributed the equivalent of more than 1.4 million meals and provided food assistance to 24,716 individuals. The site also distributes Commodities Supplemental Food Program boxes to seniors and is a Summer Feeding Program site, providing free nutritious meals and snacks to children up to the age of 18.
Volunteers like you are essential to providing food for Oklahomans living with hunger.
Volunteer opportunities at the Regional Food Bank Food & Resource Center include:
- Client Support - assist a client in a one-on-one setting to help ensure a first-class experience
- Sorting/Stocking - maximizing quality and efficiency in providing food to clients
- Client Intake - helping clients check in and providing additional resources to the client
All volunteers under age 18 must have a signed Parental Consent Form. Please review our FAQs to learn more.
To ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers, the Regional Food Bank Food & Resource Center requires the use of face covering for all staff and volunteers. Face coverings must cover both the mouth and nose and be worn at all times. Social distancing practices will also remain in place.
Note that for now, the minimum age requirement has been moved from 8 years of age to 12 years in order to accommodate our COVID safety protocols.
