About

Join our nationally recognized Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance (TVCA) bike count data program as part of a semi-annual effort to assess the number of riders in the Valley. The more data we gather on how cyclists actually use roads and pathways, the more we can improve the safety and enjoyment of the cycling experience in the Treasure Valley. This effort has already begun to help more than half a dozen other agencies and non-profit organizations guide their decisions around cycling infrastructure.

The dates of the 2021 Fall bike count are during the whole month of September and volunteers can choose to count bikes during two-hour shifts in the mornings or afternoons or evenings.

Folks that count two different shifts (same location or different) will receive an official Bike Counting Brigade patch hand delivered by bike in Nov.

As a volunteer for this project, we ask that you:
- Review the online presentation here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xZb2xHHajPzj1e_uDovKr5DHWoWcK_bx/view
- Use this data sheet to collect your bike counts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-onD4i-l7iPdmpVODVwa1d4bTg/view?usp=sharing
- Show up at your assigned location, within one of the time windows, prepared to count bicycles. You must stay for the whole time in order for the data to be usable.
- Submit your results back to us by the end of the month, you will be given instruction on how to return the forms during training.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you!
