GWupstart presents this year's speaker/workshop series to assist students build awareness of social innovation and related skills and practices from experts creating change in the community. The series will provide resources for those who are new to social innovation and want to explore it and will provide deeper learning for those who are already planning a project.
GWupstart speaker series will enable students to apply what they learn in the classroom to social innovation, service, or capstone action research projects. If your capstone or passion project is designed to solve real-world problems, these sessions are designed to provide tools, resources, and support to continue to inspire you as a citizen leader and innovator.
Participants are exposed to the trajectory of social entrepreneurs and opportunities for social innovation funding available at GW through the Nashman Center and the Office of Sustainability, as well as through innovation competitions worldwide.
