About

  • Are you from Korea?
  • Did you study in Korea?
  • Would you LIKE to study in Korea?
  • Are you studying the Korean Language?
  • OR.... Do you just want to learn more about Hangul Day?

We need you!

Join our Korean exchange students and other students interested in South Korea in celebrating UIW Hangul Day!   Hangul Day needs volunteers to help with food, music, giveaways and photo booth.  Hangul, created by Sejong the Great was a step to literacy and cultural identity in Korea and is a great way to share Korean Culture with campus!

Here a few ways to volunteer:

  • Help create Props for our photobooth (to include Korean sayings or proverbs)
  • Help ISSS shop for Korean candies and treats
  • Help set up sabancchigi
  • Help teach Korean words/ phrases to students who visit our booths
  • Help serve ginseng tea to students
  • Help with the Spicy Noodle Challenge
  • Help write student's name in Korean and help them learn to write their name.
  • Help put together a Korean music playlist for the day

Students can receive service hours for volunteering,  We are also open for creative new ways to  showcase other parts of Korean culture on campus during the event or throughout the semester.

We are hosting a planning meeting 9/27, Tuesday 4pm at ICC 200, we hope you join us!
